This page is under development and begins with an observation from a letter published in The Canberra Times on 25 March 2009 which I had to preserve from loss.
"What hypocrisy. First we were told it was legitimate to kill foxes and rabbits because they were non-native. Now it is seemingly legitimate to kill native animals - kangaroos - because they are endangering 'our' grasslands. In the meantime, it's perfectly acceptable for non-native developers to destroy native vegetation for the purpose of building houses for non-native humans. Seems to me we make up whatever rules suit us at the time.
